Bone Health Matters

February 20, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Bone Health Matters

w/ Maria Ricupero
Presentation with Q&A

• • • •

Strong bones are important for preventing falls and fractures. Osteoporosis Canada states that “1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men will develop a fracture caused by osteoporosis in their lifetime.” As we age, bone mass decreases and bone tissue deteriorates; this places the older adult at significant risk for falls and fractures, thus impacting quality of life.

Participants will learn factors affecting bone status and how nutrition and other lifestyle measures can help to preserve and promote bone health in older adults.
