Internet Safety for Seniors is a comprehensive workshop designed to equip older adults with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the digital world safely and confidently. This workshop will cover essential topics such as identifying online threats, securing personal information, recognizing scams, and practicing safe browsing habits. Participants will also learn practical tips for protecting their privacy and maintaining security while using personal devices such as smartphones, iPads, laptops and when using public Wi-Fi. There will be plenty of time for Q & A.
· Understand common online threats and risks specific to seniors
· Learn strategies to protect personal information and privacy online, including passwords, two factor authentication, using social media and online shopping safely.
· Recognize signs of online scams and phishing attempts, scam emails, texts and phone calls
· Develop skills to safely browse the internet and use online services.
· Explore tools and resources available to enhance online security.
· Provide resources for reporting online scams and stay safe
Join our new facilitator, Nathalie, from Seniors Tech Services!
Nathalie Lacoste is a retired elementary school teacher. Her passion has always been computers and technology in general. As a teacher-librarian, Nathalie’s greatest love was to teach students from ages 4 to 13 new and interesting ways to use computers and tablets. Nowadays, she is learning to play pickleball and she loves teaching about technology to new audiences.
