Resident Care and Services

Our interdisciplinary healthcare team is made up of: physicians, nurses, physiotherapist and physiotherapist assistant, a dietitian, pharmacists, a recreation therapist and social workers. Other services such as pastoral care, foot care, dentistry and ophthalmology are also provided to the residents on-site.

The Central Local Health Integration Network provides additional services, such as occupational therapy, speech pathology and nurse specialists to address complex needs.

A broad range of in-house, educational opportunities are offered to the staff to ensure that they remain knowledgeable about best practices and the latest innovations in geriatric service delivery.

Resident Care

The Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre is a long-term care home committed to honouring the diversity among our residents and to creating a caring environment. We are sensitive and respectful of cultural and spiritual needs of everyone we serve. Our resident-centred care and services philosophy acknowledges the uniqueness of each resident and aligns with our corporate Vision, Mission and Values, as well as Ontario’s Residents’ Bill of Rights. We recognize and honour our residents’ right for autonomy, to share their life stories and to maintain their chosen lifestyle.

The resident and family, as core members of the interdisciplinary care team, are the primary contributors to the resident’s individualized Plan of Care. Our interdisciplinary resident care and services team ensures that our innovative services are responsive and appropriate for each resident. Our care and services philosophy is demonstrated through our integrated programs of care modalities, therapies and services that address the total well-being of each resident. Our team is committed to working with each resident to achieve his/her maximum potential. We encourage and support our resident’s involvement within our Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre community as well as engagement in activities in our local community.
