A Fresh Start in the New Year with a New Partnership for Innovative Technological Solutions for Seniors

An exciting collaboration with Human Endeavor, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enabling and empowering human development and an innovator in technological solutions for seniors, will open up new opportunities for our Stay Connected Community program and Recreation teams. This partnership aims to further advance the use of technology to enhance the quality of life for both the seniors in the community we serve and the residents at the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre.

In an initial training session with members of the Technical Design Team at Human Endeavour, our Stay Connected Community Program and Recreation teams had the opportunity to learn about the highly customized tablets created by Human Endeavour. They explored what makes these tablets stand out and discovered how they can make a significant difference in the lives of seniors, including those  who are visually impaired or those in the early stages of dementia.

These user-friendly customized tablets are not just devices; they’re companions designed to make life easier.  They offer simple and yet powerful features. They come with voice reminders and customized icons for easy use. They are voice and touch operated and they have built-in internet (no wi-fi required), and they contain various applications such as mind stimulating games, audio books, music and more. For those who are visually impaired, there’s object recognition for added safety.  For individuals with dementia, timely reminders for medications and scheduled activities provide a structured and more enjoyable daily life. Additionally, these tablets come with a location reporting device, providing valuable assistance in case of wandering. These senior-friendly, highly customized tablets are not one-size-fits-all; they are carefully designed to cater to the specific needs of the seniors.

Our initial meeting with Human Endeavours has set the stage for an exciting journey of exploration and progress. We were happy to receive four of these cutting-edge tablets. This will allow us to explore their full potential and determine the scope of a bigger scale program launch.

This partnership is more than just a collaboration; it’s a commitment to meeting the specific needs of the seniors we work for. It is an inspiring start of the New Year.

Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this exciting journey of innovation.
